Abstract

The publication introduces the Old Russian manuscript “Canon to the Angel the Terrible Voevoda” of Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich the Terrible into scholarly circulation. The manuscript was discovered in 2017 by students of Novosibirsk State University in the Biysk Museum of Local History. The handwritten text is sewn into a printed Book of Hours (XVIII) and is a convolute with inventory number MADM.OF.12.709. The language of the text is Church Slavonic. The canon contains valuable research information regarding current theological topics of the 16th century and the Church Slavonic language.
